Taking a look back through this blog, I feel like I've unintentionally given a slightly skewed representation of myself in terms of what catches my fancy and dominates my airwaves. And that's just crazy. Cause if you can accept the part of me that loves sad, heartbreaking ballads and introspective singer-songwriter lyricism, you can also accept the part of me that loves Lady Gaga. No?

Tonight I put together a little mix for some of my nearest and dearest and thought that I'd at least share a track listing so that you can see what puts me in the mood for top-down, giggle-happy spring sing-a-longs. I mean, who doesn't have fond memories that swirl around summer days and spontaneous road trips?

katy perry "last friday night (t.g.i.f.)" i need some friday nights like this one under my belt. who's in?
graffiti6 "stare into the sun" can't wait for this band to be unleashed on america. get ready, my friends.
nikki & rich "murder u" everyone has a use for this song at some point. see also: "next best thing"
allie moss "melancholy astronautic man" astronauts AND legos?!
noisettes "wild young hearts" huge fan of these guys. total girl crush on shingai. beautiful and badass all at once.
bruno mars "marry you" i'm bored. let's get married?! this song is ridiculous and catchy as hell.
parachute "something to believe in" choirs/big group vocals always get me. every time.
two door cinema club "something good can work" once you get the rhythm down, it makes the best sing-a-long. a hooky challenge, i like to say.
nicole atkins "cry cry cry" this girl is a pistol.
street corner symphony "hey soul sister" i shamelessly love acapella arrangements, and i have an equally strong and shameless love for jeremy lister.
audra mae "here i go again" this song got a new breath of life with this cover. i put it on most of my mixes.
