Underwater photography just fascinates me.
When I was yo
ung, there were magical worlds under the water. We had a pool in our backyard when I was in grade school. On hot summer afternoons, the deep end transformed into majestic ballrooms complete with beautiful ladies in floor length gowns and handsome princes that swirled them around the dance floor. Or quaint tea rooms where my animal friends and I would share a piping cup of Earl Grey and chat about the wonderful weather we'd been having. So when I see photographs cloudy with that mystery that only water can bring, I'm brought right back to those magical worlds that I explored as a child. Except this time, they're being created right in front of me.
I wish I were back in the UK because the Movieum of London is showcasing underwater photographs from movies such as Casino Royale, The Da Vinci Code and Elizabeth: The Golden Age, as well as television features and music videos in a Water on Lens exhibition that runs October 1 -28! [That's where the photos come from! Check out even more here.]
Hi Amanda
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the photographs that we had here at The Movieum. The Water on The Lens exhibition was only with us until the 28th October 2009 and unfortunately Pinewood Studios has no plans to exhibit the photos at another location.
Sorry it wasn't running for longer.
